There are characters in sitcoms who will forever live in infamy to me. This man is one of them. He played small roles in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air but Coach Smiley was an integral part of the wit to the show. His dry humor and cynical views of his profession provided great laughs(even today when I catch the repeats). I haven’t seen much of Dave Florek’s work but his time on Fresh Prince was epic. Nothing ever quite got my spirits up as watching him smile with delight as he found out that Aunt Viv was willing to teach his course for him thus granting him an early vacation. I wish I knew guys like Coach Smiley in real life…actually I do, but nowhere near as cavalier as he is about life.
